Beneath the medieval castle of Blankenheim is the "Bastion House" of the castle. Framed between the bastioned tower and the castle walls, it has spectacular views of the lake and the town of Blankenheim. The house, which was opened in 2010, has a total of five apartments of various sizes, which are especially suitable for one or more families to enjoy a relaxing vacation together.
Cycling, hiking and exciting excursions in the area - a holiday in Blankenheim is particularly attractive for families. The hostel itself is characterised by its easy-going atmosphere. Children love immersing themselves in the era of the Middle Ages and discovering the secrets of the castle. Since 2010, Burg Blankenheim Youth Hostel has had a very special offer for families: in the 'Bastion House', below the main building of the castle, between the bastioned tower and the castle wall, the youth hostel has lovingly furnished five apartments for families.
