Discover the medieval urban core of Bad Münstereifel.

Thanks to its scenic location in the Siebengebirge Nature Park, Bad Münstereifel is an ideal starting point for excursions on foot, by boat or by train. The 320-km-long "Rheinsteig" walking route goes past the hostel and is ideal for long ambitious walks or varied short trips - depending on your stamina and endurance. The neighbouring towns of Bonn, Cologne and Koblenz as well as Linz and Königswinter can be easily and quickly reached from here.

Within its preserved walls, all the buildings in Bad Münstereifel are protected as historic monuments. You can find out more about the history of the former spa town at the local history museum. If you're interested in sports and action, then you can either borrow a couple of modern mountain bikes from the hostel and explore the area, or do a few laps in the Eifelbad pool complex!

For example, visit Kommern: the little ones will love going fast down the summer toboggan run, but the Open Air Museum, with history they can touch, also scores highly with them. Historical buildings, windmills and orchards illustrate the life of 15th century peasants. Genuine industrial heritage can be found in the mining museum in Mechernich: put your helmet on and immerse yourself into the cool and dark everyday life of the miners!
