For nature lovers and adventure-seekers - Ratingen Youth Hostel

A base in the countryside from which you can easily reach many popular destinations in Düsseldorf, Duisburg, Essen and the Bergisches Land region - that's Ratingen Youth Hostel! In the middle of an oak forest, the hostel is very popular with families, school classes and kindergarten groups. Children and teenagers can enjoy themselves at the playground and on the climbing frames on the large and beautiful outdoor area of the hostel, while trade fair visitors can make their way to the nearby cities, and recreation seekers can enjoy a walk in the woods. The forest and its inhabitants offer real adventure and are the focus of many school trip programmes that combine nature and adventure together.

It's not only families, school classes and kindergarten groups that feel at home here - recreational groups also appreciate the hostel's idyllic location. It offers complete privacy, yet the many attractions of the town of Ratingen and the surrounding Rhineland towns are within easy reach. Visitors who like a bit more peace and quiet love to come to the hostel - just 15 kilometres from the exhibition centre in Düsseldorf.

Of course, visitors will appreciate the hostel's proximity to the big towns, but Ratingen itself also has a lot to offer. The medieval town, with its towers and ancient alleys, is ideal for romantic walks and exciting town rallies. It's also worth a visit for lovers of history. Ratingen can look back on an eventful industrial history and houses the oldest surviving industrial complex in Germany.

Special features:
  • The campsite can accommodate up to 30 people
  • Particularly beautiful outdoor area with room for playing on
