"Come in and clear the ring..." - at the Nettetal-Hinsbeck Youth Hostel, visitors have the fantastic world of the circus waiting for them: in an original circus tent and under professional supervision, children and teens can learn to juggle, conjure and develop their own circus arrangements – and have a whole lot of fun doing it. The highlight is the circus gala with parents, relatives and friends as invited guests.
Many children dream of circus life. So the youth hostel offers one-week circus camps for kids aged between six and twelve during the summer holidays. Here, children can go away on their own for the first time and learn about everything that is part of a real circus performance: fire-eating, magic, acrobatics, clowns, fakirs and beds of nails. They will also be supervised around the clock by experienced supervisor teams.
School classes and groups can book the circus camp as a project week. Children will not only learn circus acrobatics under the guidance of hostel warden Manfred Podchull and his team. They will also design their own costumes and build their own sets. Working together will promote the children’s confidence and team spirit. The programme shows that even in our hectic times there are ways of arousing fascination and interest, increasing confidence and generating a feeling of togetherness. Circus is a promising way of getting schoolchildren active. And the original circus tent for 199 people on the youth hostel’s premises generates the right atmosphere.
