Youth hostels as places of learning

Extra-curricular learning with fun and variety

Whether it is a school trip, holiday camp or group outing - the events of the Rhineland youth hostels are designed to be fun. But with school trips in particular, there are also always didactic aspects at the fore, such as learning social competence, learning how to act environmentally consciously, tolerance and consideration. These are the aspects that the Rhineland youth hostels wish to communicate as an extracurricular place of learning – not only to school classes but also to conference guests, apprentices, families and leisure groups.

For that reason 35 youth hostels in the Rhineland offer varied programmes that combine fun and learning experience. Team training in the high rope course, environmental science in the woods or an adventure in English - each programme has its own educational focal point. The youth hostel itself and its surroundings play an important part here. From a mediaeval castle to a modern city hostel – the programmes are always adapted to the natural surroundings of the youth hostel.

You too can discover how to combine fun, adventure and learning experiences!
